PAUL MURPHY

Paul brings more than four decades of banking leadership and board experience to Holmes Financial. He most recently served as Executive Vice Chairman of Cadence Bank from 2021 to 2023, following an extensive tenure as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board for its predecessors, Cadence Bancorporation and Cadence Bank, N.A., from 2009 to 2021.

 

Prior to his time at Cadence, Paul spent nearly two decades at Amegy Bank of Texas, where he held multiple senior leadership roles, including Chief Executive Officer (2000–2009), President (1996–2000), and Director (1994–2009). His leadership was instrumental in Amegy’s growth and expansion across Texas, establishing the institution as a leading regional bank.

 

In addition to banking career, he has served on several public company boards currently including Oceaneering International and Natural Resource Partners.  He has also served on numerous nonprofit board including the Houston Endowment, St Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, The Dallas Federal reserve bank, Houston Branch and many others.
